Inflammation Fighting: Tropical Tumeric Golden Milk Smoothie
I’m talking about inflammation today and want to share a recipe that can help reduce inflammation in the body.
Not all inflammation is bad and much of acute inflammation involves white blood cells and other chemicals to help with the healing process.
When it becomes chronic or long term, it is problematic to the body.
I wanted to share this easy recipe, without any crazy ingredients that can help support your body when you need anti-inflammatory support.
I see a lot of clients struggle with inflammation including those with Hashimoto’s, which is a form of autoimmune disorder that impacts the thyroid, obesity, diabetes, insulin resistance, chronic infections, joint and musculoskeletal injuries.
One great food you can use in lieu of using anti inflammatory drugs like Advil, is golden milk, which is very easy to make at home.
To make golden milk, combine the milk of your choice with turmeric, which has anti-inflammatory properties. Next, add black pepper, which potentiates the action of turmeric. Add ginger and if you desire sweetened, add raw honey or pure maple syrup.
I like to combine these ingredients with tropical fruit like mangos, papayas and then some healthy fat in coconut cream.
